A residential space custom-built by Nico Van Der Meulen Architects, the “House Ber” was recently completed in Midrand, South Africa. While the building itself is positioned around a central rectangular space accommodating the living room, kitchen, swimming pool and even a koi pond, the extremities of the building are well-defined with a notable use of steel girders punctuating the upper floor. Pools and gardens outside the house are tied in by a semi-open terrace with the addition of tonal color choices and exposed raw material throughout.
