It appears that a label is about to be resurrected again, as Billboard reports that ?uestlove revealed plans to relaunch his label Okayplayer Records after an eight-year hiatus. The label will celebrate its official return with rapper/producer Danny!’s album Payback, which is due September 25. This release will be followed Essentials Vol. 1, the first of three instrumental breakbeat albums by prolific engineer Young Guru, scheduled to arrive October 9. ?uestlove’s issued this statement about the label’s relaunch:
“I’ve been waiting years for the right moment to re-launch the label, and I’m eager to kick things off with Danny!. … I’m excited for what the future holds for Okayplayer Records and look forward to releasing more great projects over the next few years.”
