Hurley’s Phantom Board Short project was groundbreaking in the sense that it introduced top-caliber fabrics and a performance-oriented fit to an arena where innovation was a long time coming. Naturally, it was only a matter of time before that experimental, technology-first ethos made its way into other applications — like outerwear. For Fall/Winter 2012, Hurley is introducing the Phantom Project Slicker Jacket — a storm fortress of a jacket constructed from a three-layer waterproof and breathable nylon ripstop. On the outside of the jacket, the seams are sealed to further lock out moisture, while a brushed tricot fleece insulates and keeps your skin dry on the inside. Lastly, reflective detailing on the sleeves of the jacket enhances visibility should you find yourself in need of rescue from Mother Nature. And just in time for cold autumn rains, you can pick up the jacket for $400 USD from the Hurley online store.
