Evisu 2012 Fall/Winter Lookbook

For Fall/Winter 2012, Evisu has taken its roots in quality and authenticity, added a healthy dose of humor and irreverence, and filtered it all into the timeframe of the ’80s. Inspired by everything from the decade’s collegiate and utilitarian styles, to arcade games and 1980s-style bold graphics, the collection takes not only a stylistic step back in time but once again reaches to the past and incorporates the original Evisu DNA.

This season, the label offers a wide array of wardrobe staples in a variety of ranges. Some standouts from the Evisu offerings this season are pictured here. The red down vest, for example, when paired with a plaid shirt and khaki-colored denim, evokes an American prep palette, stirring up memories of college campuses and autumn leaves while maintaining beautiful, yet casual Japanese tailoring. Meanwhile, the stand-collar padded wool jacket in charcoal does equally well fighting off inclement weather, grounded by washed Japanese selvedge denim.

The recent resurgence of Evisu was marked with the celebration of its 20th anniversary this year. With that, and Edison Chen being appointed as the first-ever spokesperson for the Asia-Pacific region, expect wide availability and a strong presence in Asia, and the effects of this newfound evolution to spread worldwide.
