Contrary to earlier colorful iterations in the NikeYear of the Dragon‘ collection, the fall edition of the Air Force 1 is going pearly white. While red is traditionally the color of good luck and prosperity in Chinese culture, white suggests a healthy and wealthy lifestyle, combined with the dragon’s totem of nobility and longevity. This all-white and silk-lined Air Force 1 retains the shoe’s classic profile, while subtle graphical call-outs like a dragon-scale embossed pattern on the leather upper and the Chinese character representing ‘dragon’ clearly delineating its place in the ‘Dragon’ collection. Look for the fall edition of this ‘Year of the Dragon’ Air Force 1 to land at select Nike stockists starting on September 28.
