The “Coca-Cola Beatbox,” a multi-sensory, interactive pavillon was recently completed in London in time of the Olympics. Designed by architects Pernilla & Asif, the structure is comprised of 200 red and white rectangular air cushions that provide the shell for a space intended to combine elements of music, technology and sports. As visitors ascend through the building, they will be able to alter a track created by Mark Ronson and Katy B, change lighting, and surround themselves with audio bytes consisting of recorded athletes’ heartbeats, squeaking sneakers on hardwood, as well as other immersive, interactive features. At its peak, they will then be able enjoy breathtaking views of the park and surrounding landscape.
