Melbourne-based cult label Perks and Mini, or P.A.M., provides some enlightenment on its upcoming Fall/Winter 2012 collection with a lookbook entitled, “The Highlife.” Inspired by real-life journalist and spiritualist Igor Cassini, an intrepid traveler perhaps best known for coining the term “the jet set,” the collection is ironically shot in the confines of photographer Peter Sutherland’s New York apartment. Aesthetically, the label remains true to its past collections, showcasing clothing in an array of sweaters, jackets, and wovens in ethnic prints and graphics inspired by psychedelics and Cassini’s travels abroad. The lookbook as a whole is punctuated by a series of shots of the model showcasing a short-sleeved raincoat-inspired shirt amidst wreaths of smoke and random laser beams, maintaining Cassini’s promotion of keeping “mystery as mystery.” Look for the collection to begin hitting select stockists including the HYPEBEAST Store and Someday very soon.
