“There were people who incorporated melody before me, but I would deem myself the first person to successfully rap and sing.” That was what Drake had to say on the subject of rappers who also sang, or vice versa. Speaking to The Jewish Chronicle, the Toronto native stated while people had used melody on rap songs before him, he believes he was the first artist to truly legitimize the practice.
