Perhaps part of the success that can be attributed to the Converse First String line is the brand’s more deeply rooted history across sports, lifestyle and just about everything else in between. Or perhaps it is in part due to the upper tier lineup’s ability to execute each iteration in a way that afford the shoes with broad sweeping acceptance, yet with a limited distribution that effectively keeps its wanting audience pinning for a pair of the exclusives. The latest to arrive from the First String tier comes in the form of the Star Player Ox that is treated in a finely filed nylon exterior upper and juxtaposed interior canvas lining. With two colors to choose from — white and red — the retro-sport aesthetic of the two-pack is tastefully augmented by the inclusion of vintage cotton flat laces and a pure white outsole with contrasting midsole taping. Tonal Converse branding along the side panel only furthers the nostalgia of the silhouette. Availability is now offered directly through Bows & Arrows for a reasonable tag of $70 USD each.
