Back in April, The Beach Boys kicked off the campaign for their new album by simultaneously setting a release date for it and putting out a behind-the-scenes video that included a preview of its first single, “That’s Why God Made The Radio.” When the consensus came in on it, most were surprised at just how much it sounded like, well, The Beach Boys! Let’s face it, Brian Wilson and company are pretty old now, and most weren’t expecting an album made 45 years after Pet Sounds to do the group’s legacy justice. But the LP, which goes by the same title as its single, has received pretty good reviews and its release shockingly marked the Boys’ first top 10 debut ever on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart. Since the music hearkens back to the band’s prime in the 1960s, it’s only right that the official music video for “That’s Why God Made The Radio” does too. Filled with vintage styling, old school radios, laughs, smiles, babes and of course, the beaches of Southern California, the clip serves its purpose and captures the easygoing feel of the song. As you watch the video above, look out for an appearance from the aged, yet still immensely talented Beach Boys themselves.
