After shutting up shop over at Number (N)ine, many people thought that that was it for its founder and lead designer Takahiro Miyashita, but luckily for them it was not long after that he debuted his new line, TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloIst. Now, approaching its sixth season, the brand has already managed to establish itself as one of the frontrunners among modern Japanese brands. A staggering variety of materials have been used in this collection including a wide array of animal skins. Cow, deer, sheep, horse and even kangaroo leather have all been used, with the jacket made from the latter set to retail for a healthy ¥493,500 JPY (approximately $6,220 USD). It’s not just the skin that has been put to use. The filling for the padded vests and jackets consist of a luxurious 90% white goose down and 10% feather combination. Other elements utilized include mouton fur, angora wool and handmade cashmere. Finally, amongst the footwear we see an interesting mixture of shoes and the previously previewed sneaker collaboration with UNDERCOVER.
