Christopher Raeburn‘s 2013 spring/summer collection celebrates and draws its inspiration from the nocturnal owl. The British designer, known for his functional designs and innovative reuse of decommissioned army issue continues to impress with fresh touches of ingenuity this season. Military sleeping bags were used to create lightweight parkas with mesh panels and waxed fabric, while Raeburn’s signature parachute concept was reworked into coats for casual pairing with denim and Dr. Martens. A white silk parachute went into the making of some lightweight pieces that give nod to the mysterious owl’s luminosity. Other notable pieces include a Zig Zag bomber jacket with contrasting sleeves and the shiny happy silver Macintosh edged in black that will leave you wishing for a rainy day.
