The first in a series aptly dubbed Spirit and Skill, this short film by Zibasan Hyogo captures the crafting of a handmade knife in the tradition of Miki City blacksmiths. Staying true to age-old metal hardware techniques, Miki Hardware celebrates the heritage of a blacksmithing city by perpetuating edged tools with artful skill, patience and pride. The other installments in this remarkable series feature more products of traditional craftsmanship, including pottery, Japanese candles, socks and leather to name a few. Watch them all here on Zibasan Hyogo’s Vimeo.
