Even though there are seemingly no boundaries in this internet age, popular music still differs
Even though there are seemingly no boundaries in this internet age, popular music still differs considerably from country to country. A prime example of this is Belgian beauty Selah Sue, whose debut self-titled album premiered in the Top 10 in France, the Netherlands, and Belgium upon its release in 2011 and has sold over 400,000 units to date in Europe. Despite those impressive statistics, the reggae-influenced soul artist has yet to make much of a mark in the U.S. That could be changing in the coming months, though. On August 21, Columbia Records will be releasing Sue’s debut album stateside. Included on it will be three exclusive tracks that aren’t available on other countries’ versions. One of those songs may be this brand new J. Cole and Supa Dups-assisted remix to the most well-known song in her catalog, “Raggamuffin.” Give Sue’s first official U.S. release a spin below.
