Singer Donna Summer is understood to have died this morning after a battle with cancer, she was 63 years old. The five-time Grammy winner, known as the ‘Queen of Disco,’ passed away in Florida according to TMZ. In a statement from Donna’s family, they affirmed that they “are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continue legacy.” According to TMZ’s report, Summer died from lung cancer while several other sources say that the disco queen believed she contracted it by inhaling toxic particles after the 9/11 attack in New York City. The star is best known for her string of ’70s disco tracks including “I Feel Love,” “Love to Love You Baby,” “Last Dance,” “Hot Stuff” and “She Works Hard for the Money.”
