Every Third Thursday from Huntington Beach’s Signal Snowboards is a chance for the crew to blow off some steam and add a little creative spark to the manufacturing and design of snowboards. Contacted by NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) as part of “Wanna Play” week – where every and anyone is encouraged to pick up a musical instrument – Signal was inspired to create a xylophone snowboard. Crafted from hard rosewood, the asymmetrical shape created a funky nose and tail, with musical notes and old sheet music incorporated to create something truly one-of-a-kind. After the final insert was in place, the next logical step was to take it out for a ride at Mt. Bachelor with Kiwi rider Hamish Martin as its pilot.
