New J Dilla EP Featuring Unreleased Material in the Making

There is a new J Dilla EP featuring unreleased music coming. Titled DILLATROIT, the 12” EP will be released May 25 in the U.S. and June 12 internationally via Mahogani Music. According to FACT, the piece will include 12 unreleased tracks, and is being released in partnership with the J Dilla Foundation and the Yancey Media Group. You can listen to a much too short SoundCloud sampler with snippets of the featured songs below. There is also a brief commentary from J Dilla’s mother, Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey, who just recently launched a label, Ruff Draft, where she’ll issue unreleased Dilla classics.
