In addition to the X2, Leica has officially announced the release of the M Monochrom. Focusing on an entirely black and white image presentation, the M Monochrom features a newly developed monochrome CCD sensor with a native resolution of 18 megapixels alongside no interpolation with the direct processing of raw data, fine-grain image noise of 320-10,000 ISO with a Pull 160 option, a 2.5 inch 230,000 dot rear LCD, and comes equipped with both Adobe Photoshop Lightroom and Silver Efex Pro 2. Leica’s M Monochrom is now available for $8,000 USD.
