Despite their highly publicized and expensive purchase of iPhone camera application Instagram and its associated social network, Facebook has just introduced their own internally-developed camera app for the iPhone. In Mark Zuckerberg’s defense though, this is designed to be an application independent of Facebook’s recent acquisition, more or less facilitating a more elegant and streamlined way to publish photographs to your timeline, with a few added editing features like rotating, cropping, and color-correcting filters — all of which sure sound a lot like Instagram’s pre-existing capabilities. Was the landmark purchase made to simply eliminate the threat of competing mobile photo-sharing networks? You can see for yourself by downloading and trying the app. Grab it here, from the iTunes App Store.
