Azealia Banks cancels a host of summer festival appearances

Azealia Banks has opted to pull out of a host of festival dates over the summer due to “recording commitments.” The Harlem rapper’s schedule was set to take her around Europe during June, July and August, but her management today released a statement to UK magazine NME explaining the change of plan:

“Azealia Banks will be performing at the Radio 1 Hackney Weekender and Reading & Leeds Festivals this summer, but has unfortunately had to cancel her remaining UK festival appearances due to recording commitments. Her October UK headline tour will still go ahead as scheduled.”

With her debut LP Broke With Expensive Taste penned in for a September release, it seems that Banks has had to rejig her list of priorities, moving recording to the very top. Explaining on her Twitter account Azealia said: “They were all prematurely booked by my old management without any consideration for me and the album I need to finish!”
