Nike is bringing back the soul of the 1970s with an exact replica re-creation of the classic Tailwind Night Track NRG in Royal Blue. The metallic silver shoe will be available with two accenting colorways: Varsity Red, and the rich Royal Blue pictured. True to the classic, the upper will be Nike’s LDV running upper and will be infused with all of the technology and shoe construction experience gained in the 40 years since the shoe’s last appearance. The pair is finished off with a smooth, glitter sole – a tenant that is also faithful to the discothèque inspirations of the original. The 2012 Night Track will be just as limited as it was then, with an initial release of the red colorway on March 3, during Paris Fashion Week. A second release shortly thereafter will punctuate the 15th anniversary celebration at colette in Paris.
