For its 2012 Spring/Summer Collection NEIGHBORHOOD drew inspiration from the 1987 cult classic film, Less Than Zero, which starred Robert Downey Jr. sporting a timeless trench coat, prep styling and iconic Wayfarers. Using this as a catalyst, the Japanese label took a number of looks from the film and reinterpreted them with its own unique sensibilities utilizing novel detailing from American counterculture and military surplus. Apart from the film references, this seasonal collection also features numerous NBHD cornerstone pieces, such as its always-popular Kendall Chino, Americana workwear-inspired shirts, and the continuation of its ongoing fragment design collaboration with the reworking of the Channel 7 Shirt. “LESS THAN ZERO” is currently available at select retailers in limited numbers, including UK’s own End Clothing.
