Kagoshima-based woodwork craftsman Jin Akihiro of family-run Akihiro Woodworks presents the KIKISA coffee cup in an ultra lightweight birch construction. The eclectic design exhibits strong three-dimensional sensibilities in terms of its lines and curvature form effectively embodying the Akihiro design ideology towards a continual pursuit of excellence in innovative handmade wood design. Inspired by the “Tyvek” DuPont Weatherization System and intended for outdoor use, this cup comes in a drawstring bag designed by Papier Labo‘s Kimiaki Eto and can be pre-ordered here for ¥7,350 JPY (approximately $88 USD).
