VOR Generation 1-A Ombre Blue Sneaker

The brainchild of co-founders Andreas Klingseisen and Joerg Rohwer-Kahlmann, VOR Footwear recently minted its Generation 1-A silhouette in a custom “Ombre Blue” leather upper just in time for Spring 2012. We had the opportunity to set our lens to one of the first production pairs taking time to study the model’s extensive detailing, lustrous full-grain leather construction, and streamlined appeal. By most standards, the 1-A holds a steady position within the “sneaker” category, but the pair’s understated low-cut design and monotone upper pushes its validity into the broader “menswear” territory – a realm often characterized by a deeper degree of sophistication and tailoring. Calling upon subtle tonal simplicities, the 1-A exudes maturity via tonal dark navy laces, attenuate stitching and delicate goat interior lining. Reflecting the designer’s affinity to remain aloof from over distributed, flash-in-the-pan trends, production for the Generation 1-A is limited to only 500 pairs worldwide and is now available through the VOR online store. Retail is set at €229 EUR (approximately $302 USD).
