Nike 2012 Spring/Summer Pre Montreal Vintage
A tribute to Nike’s first ever sponsored athlete, star runner Steve Prefontaine, the Pre Montreal

A tribute to Nike’s first ever sponsored athlete, star runner Steve Prefontaine, the Pre Montreal Vintage is now available as a part of the Spring/Summer 2012 drops from Nike Sportswear. Originally released in 1973, the kicks were first donned by “Pre” following his successful showing in Munich at the 1972 Summer Olympic Games as he prepared for the ‘76 Games in Montreal. However, before Prefontaine could realize his dreams of a gold medal, he was tragically killed in a fatal car accident in 1975. Reissued in his memory, these black suede and nylon kicks receive Nike’s vintage treatment with retro branding, exposed tongue padding, and an artificially distressed and yellowed midsole. The Pre Montreal Vintage is now available from the UK-based Size? for £57 GBP (approximately $90 USD).
