Japanese label nonnative takes to the beaches for its 2013 spring/summer lookbook, entitled “The Coast.” The collection, which fuses inspiration from California beach culture and grunge rock, includes flannels, bright linen pants, sweatshirts and tapered chinos–pieces for layering as the weather turns from cold to cool. Shot by Yuichi Akagi, the lookbook is drenched in the sun of the beaches, with bare sandy environments lending the pieces a bohemian edge. Perhaps these shots lend a certain play on the brand name; there is a certain sense of movement and transience between the shots that contextualize the clothing as alien. The nonnative Spring/Summer 2013 collection will soon be available at select global retailers.
