G-III "Axel Foley" Detroit Lions Varsity Jacket
Available for the first time and popularized by Eddie Murphy’s Axel Foley character in the 1987

Available for the first time and popularized by Eddie Murphy’s Axel Foley character in the 1987 action-comedy Beverly Hills Cop II from the late Tony Scott, G-III is set to release Foley’s Detroit Lions varsity jacket here on the 25th anniversary of the film. Worn throughout the flick as Murphy’s fictional Detroit police detective returns to the West Coast to track down a gun-smuggling ring, this faithful reproduction was created by former NFL linebacker, New York Giant Super Bowl champion, Michigan native and President of G-III Sports, Carl Banks. Constructed of melton wool and cow symphony leather, the design features the commemorative patches of the original design and comes complete with a “Beverly Hills Edition” patch on the inner lining. Limited to just 50 pieces and retailing for $400 USD, the G-III “Axel Foley” Detroit Lions Varsity Jacket will be available exclusively from Reed Space as the New York spot hosts an in-store event and movie screening of the ’80s classic tonight, November 15, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. EST.
