Progressive German eyewear manufacturer Mykita has come together with Paris-based fashion designer Damir Doma to create a set of brand new frames for the upcoming year. Aptly dubbed the “DD01,” the new model utilizes Mykita’s signature construction techniques as the stainless steel frames are coated in either gold, platinum, or graphite before before being molded into a three-dimensional shape through a process of mechanical bending and folding. Coupled with natural horn and featuring black, grey or brown lenses, the futuristic sunglasses provide a new take on the intellectual look typically associated with the design’s classic round shape. The DD01 is set to launch in Spring 2013 and will be available from Damir Doma and Mykita stockists, as well as additional optical outlets.
