Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme confirmed on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show that Dave Grohl will rejoin the band for their sixth studio album on drums. Homme went on to state that previous drummer Joey Castillo had left the band. Grohl had featured on QOTSA’s 2002 album Songs For The Deaf before stepping aside for 2005 LP Lullabies to Paralyze and 2007’s Era Vulgaris. Homme spoke of his working relationship with the Foo Fighters frontman stating “[Grohl] and I have this wonderful musical relationship which we don’t have with other people. It’s a very cool and comfortable position.” Visual confirmation was made last night when the band tweeted their studio’s mixing board with the names of the band’s updated lineup.
