STUDIOUS is a tightly-edited, multi-label store hailing from Japan. From its origins in Tokyo, the retailer has been so successful in the past four years that the company now boasts 10 locations across the country. Despite the proliferation of its stores, however, STUDIOUS’ wares are sourced locally — each of its brands is based in Tokyo, a range that includes FACTOTUM, REGAL, JAM HOME MADE and master-piece. For Fall/Winter 2012, the retailer’s lookbook manages to showcase both the breadth of its products and its careful curation. The pieces are familiar — parkas, down vests and pea coats paired with woven shirts, suspenders, and cropped or slouchy pants — yet include contemporary twists in the form of eccentric cuts or fits that are a Japanese specialty. The clothes displayed in the lookbook are available now from STUDIOUS’ retail locations.
