Founded on the unique goal of being the “DNA of famous legends,” Swiss watchmaker RJ-Romain Jerome finally releases its first diver’s timepiece, aptly dubbed the Octopus Watch. CEO Manuel Emch launched this long-awaited initiative as he wanted a diver’s watch to be different in terms of both its aesthetic expression and its technical execution. To do so the Octopus Watch offers a dual-crown design and an “exclusive unidirectional rotating sapphire bezel system.” The highlights however stem from the recurring Octopus theme echoing the number eight – eight octagon head screws on the 45mm case, the back of the watch is stamped by a hand-engraved octopus, two screw-locked crowns are adorned with eight rivets, a water resistance rating of 888 feet (270 meters), and each piece is limited edition of 888 pieces. Lastly, the black rubber strap has suction cups (on the inside) like the ones found on the arms of an octopus. The RJ-Romain Jerome Octopus Watch is currently available for $13,750 USD.
