Pioneer updates last May’s success with a second-generation smartphone-powered in-car entertainment system that will broaden its audience beyond the Apple/iOS audience. Compatible with Android devices as well, the AppRadio 2 is specifically equipped for those with a Mobile High Definition Link (MHL) or Micro-HDMI connection, and it comes larger with more apps. The 6.1” AppRadio touchscreen has been upgraded to a 7” screen, retaining its capacitive sensitivity and multi-touch functionality. It supports Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, has an optional rear-view camera input, allows touchscreen steering-wheel control, and comes with two preamp outputs. AppRadio 2 hits the market in April and will retail for $599 USD.
