Japanese car manufacturer Nissan has outdone itself this time with the world’s first and most startling car-to-iPhone-case crossover. Using its signature Scratch Shield paint technology, as applied on Nissan and Infiniti models, Nissan presents the ultimate mobile casing solution for the iPhone klutz. Scratch Shield paint more than simply shields – it heals itself of scratches. Developed from polyrotaxane, its chemical structure has the elastic ability to revert to original, in essence flexing its shape to fill up a scratch or ding whenever damaged. The case is made of ABS plastic – a strong plastic commonly used in automotive parts for its robustness – and has been released for beta testing. If well-received, this un-scratchable case looks poised for market entry this year.
