Hot Chip’s guitarist Al Doyle announced on his Twitter account that the band had “one more song” to record before the album is complete.
“hot chip album update: we have one more song to record then we have enough songs and we’re gonna stop. Cannot wait to play them to y’all. Al”
The as-yet unnamed LP, which will be the fifth album to come from the Londoners following 2010’s One Life Stand, is due for release later this year, Hot Chip’s lead vocalist Alexis Taylor spoke previously with NME about how the LP taking shape:
“We’re really happy with how it’s going. We’re trying to build up a good batch of songs before we get too excited about finishing the album… We want to keep going and try out as many different things as possible, so we’ve got the best album we can make.”
The new material is likely to surface from the band in the very near future, stay tuned.
