Multifaceted artist Kostas Seremetis has created a new exhibition in Boston called “Ready…Steady…Go!” His pieces include paintings, sculptures, prints and video with iconic characters from pop culture. There is a 9-foot sculpture of 5-point star made of police barricades, multiple Mickey Mouse palette-knife paintings, and a Captain American painting with skulls to name a few. Seremetis isn’t creating pop art, though. He uses icons or images from film, comics, cartoons and rock ‘n’ roll in fine art, and sometimes abstract, pieces. He is a native of Boston, and got his start in the early nineties in populist places like coffee shops and nightclubs. Now based in New York, he has exhibited his work all over the world and is collected by the likes of Ian Astbury of The Cult and Darren Aronofsky. “Ready…Steady…Go!” runs through October 23 of this year at Fourth Wall Project.
