New from Pendleton Woolen Mills and Michael Leon comes a short film curated by Arkitip. Scored to a rather dramatic yet monotonous reading of American poet Robinson Jeffers’ “The Beaks of Eagles,” which is most well-known for being made into a song by the Beach Boys on their 1973 album Holland, the video voyeuristically follows a woman wrapped in Pendleton exploring a rocky beachside enclave. Michael Leon makes a suitable collaborator for Pendleton, as he strongly identifies with the freedom and vigilanteism of skateboard culture and has produced impressive work in many forums and mediums including painting, prints, sculpture, photography and film. All in all, an aesthetically pleasing and relaxing video to check out.
