Erykah Badu working with the Gorillaz

According to the Wall Street Journal, Erykah Badu is linking up with the Gorillaz for a yet undisclosed project. The interview took place at the Rock the Bells event in San Bernardino this past Saturday, where Badu paid tribute to her longtime followers with a start-to-finish performance of her debut offering Baduizm. Besides revealing the name of her current collaborators, she also opened up about the process of revisiting her iconic 1997 album and more. “I’m making an album right now with a guy named Flying Lotus. I’m working on a project with The Gorillaz. I’m always doing something. It doesn’t always make headlines, but I’m always making art – always. I deliver babies. That’s what I do – that’s the art that I’m focusing on right now for the most part. I’m a midwife.”

One can only assume what will result from the creative clash between Ms. Badu, the Gorillaz and FlyLo. Stay tuned.
