The impressive response to Bon Iver’s self-titled sophomore LP suggests that the album is clearly one of this year’s musical highlights. The appreciation of Justin Vernon and the rest of the band became evident at Washington, DC’s 9:30 Club, and was so overwhelming during their performance. For the second of two sold-out performances at this location recorded on August 2, the Wisconsin collective offered a fine selection from their latest album as well as favorites from 2008’s For Emma, Forever Ago. NPR now comes through with the audio version of this live experience.
