Nixon x Gumball 3000 Custom Magnacon

The Gumball 3000 is an annual race that has taken a different 3,000-mile route down public roads every year since its inception in 1999. Less a true road rally and more a travel experience where Ferraris and Lamborghinis get to brush shoulders in exotic locales, the event is truly about a “lifestyle” more than winning or losing (there’s not even any official timekeeping). Thus, it makes perfect sense that watch brand Nixon, which has collaborated with the race in the past, would team up with the Gumball 3000 to create a custom Magnacon timepiece in order to honor 2011’s event. With a matte black casing, textured black bezel, tonal face and light orange details abounding, the watch certainly conjures up the image of a luxury automobile before one even notices the bright Gumball logo at the bottom of its face. As with last year’s Nixon x Gumball watch, the Magnacon is sure to be a limited-edition release.
