Pringle of Scotland 2012 Spring/Summer Collection

Having formerly served time at labels like Chloé, Marni and (most recently) Balenciaga, it should come as no surprise that Pringle of Scotland’s newest creative director, Alistair Carr, is planning to steer the house in a completely different direction. Abandoning the term “traditional” (in its most general sense, anyway), Carr unveiled a youthful collection that was both experimental and deliberate. And without any extensive background or training in knitwear design, he was able to present his own unique point of view without any of the preconceived limitations that might hinder a more experienced designer. While the cropped trousers certainly brought attention to the neon-colored accents adorning the footwear (which, by the way, was produced in collaboration with PUMA), most of the action occurred above the waist with geometric patterns and graphic prints.
