At the beginning of next week, MTV’s long-running special series, Unplugged, will feature its first performance by a hip-hop artist since Jay-Z and Lauren Hill each filmed for the show in 2001. To prepare the world for the full airing this Sunday at 9 p.m. EST & PST, MTV has unveiled a clip from the show. While this performance of “6 Foot 7 Foot” by Wayne and Cory Gunz doesn’t stick to the signature Unplugged script of not using electric instruments, Wayne stated recently that MTV “damn sure picked the right artist” to bring hip-hop back to the series.
