Kanye West @ MoMA Garden Party by Tommy Ton

Tommy Ton took a brief break from his usual street style hunts to photograph rapper Kanye West during his performance at the MoMA’s “The Party in the Garden” concert series earlier this month. Trading in his usual high-fashion wares for a more pared-down and relaxed look, Mr. West took to the stage in blue jeans, a T-shirt and a grey American Apparel hoodie. To the surprise of a packed house, the rapper eventually ended his 45-minute set with a surprise appearance by none other than Jay-Z himself, sending the cheerful crowd home to an impromptu rendition of “Empire State of Mind.”
