Ryan McGinness "Recent Paintings" Exhibition @ Michael Kohn Gallery

Starting this week, Michael Kohn Gallery in Los Angeles will be hosting a solo exhibition

Starting this week, Michael Kohn Gallery in Los Angeles will be hosting a solo exhibition entitled “Recent Paintings” for New York City-based contemporary artist Ryan McGinness. Known for his bold paintings and installations that layer contemporary iconography with his own commentary on language, history and symbolism, McGinness has drawn much of his inspiration from the skate and surf culture that he was exposed to while growing up in Virginia Beach, VA. “Recent Paintings” includes several pieces from McGinness’ past body of work alongside some of his new paintings, and is scheduled to be on display from May 19-July 1, 2011
