Ray-Ban for Brooks Brothers Capsule Collection

Ray-Ban and Brooks Brothers announce the launch of a new collection of sunglasses for men and women. The collection features two timeless and iconic styles – the Wayfarers and the Aviators. Both are accented with Brooks Brothers’ signature BB#1 repp stripe on the interior of the temple arms. The BB#1 repp stripe, which is prominent in Brooks Brothers merchandise, especially in neckwear, was fashioned after British regimental or club ties. In the 1920s, Brooks Brothers Americanized this classic graphic in design by reversing the direction of the stripes. By the fifties, both the Wayfarers and the Brooks Brothers repp stripe tie became synonymous with the “Ivy League Look.” Sixty years later both brands have maintained their legendary status.
