Despite the tremendous success of his platinum hit single “Black and Yellow,” Pittsburgh’s very own Wiz Khalifa could not beat Britney Spears in record sales. His Atlantic Records LP Rolling Papers will debut at no. 2 on the Billboard charts with sales of 191,777 in its first week.
Femme Fatale, the seventh album by Britney Spears, will top the album charts with sales of 278,618. Also debuting was the physical copy of Radiohead’s King of Limbs (no. 6 with just over 60k) and Snoop Dogg’s Doggumentary at no. 8, with just over 49,000 units sold.
Rising up from the underground was Point Breeze rapper Mac Miller, hitting no. 37 on the album charts with his EP On and On and Beyond which sold over 13,000 units. In addition, Miller’s “On and On” was the iTunes free single of the week and two of the tracks came from his free mixtape Best Day Ever. It is worth pointing out that Khalifa and Miller are currently traveling together on the Campus Consciousness Tour.
