Beyoncé Announces Professional Split from her Father

It was bound to happen one day. Beyoncé Knowles has parted ways with her father Matthew Knowles on a business level. Knowles managed all facets of Beyoncé’s flourishing career, ranging from music to movies, to fashion and perfume ventures. In her career, the artist has won 16 Grammy awards and appeared in top-grossing films such as Dreamgirls and Obsessed, which was topped by her critically-acclaimed performance in Cadillac Records as Etta James. Her publicist Yvette Noel-Schure told the Associated Press in a statement.

“I am grateful for everything he has taught me,” Beyoncé said in the statement. “I grew up watching both he and my mother manage and own their own businesses. They were hardworking entrepreneurs, and I will continue to follow in their footsteps.”
