Having been absent from the New York calendar for a few seasons, Tim Hamilton returns with a Fall/Winter 2011 collection. The presentation was shown at the studio of artist Ross Bleckner, who Hamilton collaborated with for this collection. Several of the shirts, turtlenecks, blazers and pants were printed using the artist’s abstract floral designs and paired with ribbed sweaters and shrunken bottoms. In one of his signature touches, Hamilton experimented with proportion showing a combination of long, oversized coats with blousy button-downs and cropped jackets. Among the standout pieces from the presentation were leather pieces including a perfectly tailored biker jacket, ribbed leather pants and leather boots which appeared to have a copper, platform sole. Taking his inspiration from New York City, Hamilton’s return proves that all good things are worth waiting for.
