With a massive watch market developing and growing in Mainland China with each Chinese millionaire being made, the thirst for foreign watches has seemingly spilled over into domestic styles. The Seagull 1963 Chronograph was originally conceived in 1961 at the Tianjin Watch Factory who was commissioned to create a watch for the PLA’s Air Force. Following its initial success, the watch was deemed fit for mass production. Aside from the Chinese sensibilities in design on the face, it features a 40-hour power reserve and retails for $339 USD.
