Lou Reed & Metallica - The View (Directed by Darren Aronofsky)

Although the response to Lulu has been has been not as warm as expected, it doesn’t mean that Lou Reed and Metallica are not having fun with their their collobaration album. This becomes apparent in the grainy, black-and-white video for “The View” which was directed by Oscar-nominated director of Black Swan and The Wrestler, Darren Aronofsky. Initially it was intended, that Aronofsky helms a clip for the song “Iced Honey” but has become infatuated with “The View” that he simply had to visualize it.

“I had never heard anything like it”, Aronofsky says in a press release. “I couldn’t stop listening to it. Lou’s crushing lyrics, and the band’s incredible licks. It’s so original and that’s why I wanted to work on it.”
