For the first time in 16 years, an independent artist is set to debut at number one atop Billboard charts. Mac Miller’s Blue Slide Park sold an estimated 148,915 copies within its first week of release and will officially see topnotch status tomorrow. The PA emcee has gradually increased his following, as it is no doubt impressive to accomplish such a feat, especially with no major label backing. Oh yeah — and the kid is only 19. Congrats, Mac.
